What are filters?
Filters are scoring rounds where judges evaluate each MC. Based on scores, who advances to the bracket is determined.
Filter groups (A, B, C…)
You can create filter groups to run several battles at the same time. For example, with groups A, B and C, three battles can be active in parallel.
How it works:
- Create groups before generating battles: in the event's advanced options, add groups (e.g. A, B, C).
- Generate battles: The system creates all filter battles and distributes them evenly among groups.
- Assign judges: Each judge can be assigned to all groups or only to specific groups.
- Run in parallel: Start one battle per group; each group advances independently.
Example: 12 battles and 3 groups → 4 battles per group (A: 1–4, B: 5–8, C: 9–12).
Privacy configuration
When creating or editing the event you can set:
- Public filter results: Any user can see the scores and detailed classification.
- Private filter results: Scores and the classification table are only visible to event staff (organizers, admins, judges, host, DJ and media). The general public sees the battles without scores.
The "Round of 16" badges indicating who advanced are also hidden for the public when results are private.
Live filter editing
During the event (In progress status), organizers and admins can edit filter battles from the "Edit filters live" panel, which appears above the battle list.
Available actions
| Action | Description | |--------|-------------| | Add MC | Select an unassigned MC and add them to the filter | | Remove MC | Remove an MC from the filter (asks for confirmation) | | Move MC | Move an MC from one filter to another | | Create new filter | Opens a selector to create a new filter battle |
Important: If a filter already has votes registered, the 🔒 "Already voted" badge appears and it cannot be edited. This protects the integrity of already submitted scores.
Participants without a filter
In the Participants table you'll see a yellow "No filter assigned" badge next to MCs who are registered but don't appear in any filter battle. This helps you quickly identify who still needs to be assigned.
Filter flow
- Eligible: Only accepted registrants can be scored
- Score: Each judge assigns points to each MC in their group
- Ranking: System orders by score (visible based on configured privacy)
- Complete filters: Top N advance and the bracket is generated
Stage confirmations
If you have the option "Require confirmation before advancing stages" enabled (on by default), the system will ask you to confirm before:
- Completing filters and generating the bracket
This prevents accidentally advancing a stage during a live event.
Generate the bracket
- When filters are complete
- Go to Bracket or Generate bracket
- System creates the bracket automatically based on who qualified
- You can adjust manually if needed
Bracket structure
- Rounds: First round, semifinals, final
- Battles: Each matchup is a battle
- Advancement: Winner of each battle advances to next round
- Replicas: Battles with a replica are marked with an R badge
Optional third place
After semifinals, you can choose:
- Go straight to Final: Skip 3rd place
- Play 3rd place first: Run the 3rd place battle before the final
Manual battles
If you need to add a battle not in the automatic bracket:
- Go to Bracket
- Use Create manual battle
- Select the MCs or teams
Next step
Once the bracket is generated, go to Battles and voting to run battles live.
